- Review and “redlining” of contracts such as long-term framework agreements, tender submissions, non-disclosure agreements, this includes the negotiation and resolution of challenges / queries from counterparties where possible and the escalation were not.

- Providing “peer reviews” of contract reviews that colleagues provide (e. G. from the Procurement Team), and requesting such peer reviews to support a robust, quality-driven process.

- Reviewing documentation that forms part of various strategic business partnerships. Specifically managing the due diligence requirements for strategic sales partnerships (e. G. sales agents), ensuring where possible all business risks are mitigated / minimised / removed.

- Participate in RFQ / bid tenders, supporting review / analysis of contractual requirements or commitments, attending kick-off meetings, contract / pricing reviews, tender submissions etc. Providing advice and counsel where required.

- Support the training, development and mentoring of the wider EMEA team members on contract best practice, highlighting Company minimum requirements / procedures and tools / approaches to reduce risk. This should extend to proactively providing input / updates to departmental operating Guidelines and Policies and Procedures.

- Ensuring contracts are reviewed and approved inline with the Group’s delegation of authority, highlighting areas of concern / recommendations for improvement to the appropriate Directors as part of the sign off process.

- Engaging in direct dialog on occasion with clients, partners, and vendors via calls and written correspondence.

Role-specific skills, knowledge and experience:

- Extensive exposure to complex contracts, particularly in sales and procurement environments, including experience reviewing and revising contracts on both internal and client templates, and drafting contracts from scratch.

- Extensive experience in an industrial working environment, ideally the rail industry.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including fluency in English, Spanish and French.

- Excellent ability to analyse contracts, commercial proposals and transactions, and identify business issues.

- Certified degree in either commercial or legal sector (preferably both).

- Exposure to working across multiple countries, and ability to work individually or as part of a regionally distributed team.

- A quick and efficient learner with attention to detail.

- Demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.

- An ability to think innovatively and creatively.

- Can-do attitude; flexible and positive. Values honesty in work.

- Has to travel in the different countries from EMEA to meet customers and business partners, mainly in France or UK
